OMAHA, Neb. —

The Omaha Running Club is once again hosting the Omaha Marathon. This year's race is a Boston Marathon qualifying event.

The annual marathon saw people from all over make their way to Omaha. This year’s races featured runners from 41 different states.

"Last year was our record; we had about 1,000 runners. We've got almost 1,300 this year, so yeah, we've grown this year,” Tom Whitaker, president of the Omaha Running Club, said.

That included Nic Aubert, who made the trip from Woodbury, Minnesota, with his wife and daughter. With his wife sporting a “run Nic run” shirt, they watched Aubert not just win the marathon but finish the 26-mile run in just two hours and 36 minutes.
