CONCRETE, Wash. — In the quiet town of Concrete, a workshop sits filled with unfinished projects — a reminder of a life that was cut short on a Washington hiking trail.
Doug Andrews, 63, died Saturday after falling an estimated 150 to 200 feet from the Sauk Mountain Trail in Skagit County . Despite CPR efforts by fellow hikers, he died of blunt force trauma.
His family chose to speak out days after his death to honor his memory.
"This is the shop my dad and I did everything together in," his son Mark Andrews said, fighting back tears as he sat among the hand tools and half-finished picture frames. "I'm not as good as him yet, but I have to keep using it for him."
