Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir was mockingly dubbed a ‘salesman-in-chief’ at home for showcasing rare earth minerals to US President Donald Trump. The event took place during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to Washington. The military chief came under severe criticism from Pakistani senator Aimal Wali Khan, who questioned him for presenting the country’s strategic resources like a ‘salesman’ at the White House.
“What a joke! Which field marshal carries rare earth in a briefcase?” President Awami National Party said in the Pakistani Parliament. A video of his speech has gone viral on social media platforms.
In a social media post on September 28, he shared an image of the field of marshal with Donald Trump and Shehbaz Sharif, with the caption, “An elite designer shop (a new
