Snapchat has begun charging users up to $15.99 a month to keep their memories saved on their accounts, admitting it is never easy to start paying for a service that was previously free.
Users have been able to save their photos as memories on their accounts for free since 2016.
But now, the social media platform has rolled out storage plans for those who have memories exceeding more than 5GB of storage.
It will cost $2.99 a month to upgrade to 100GB of storage, $5.99 a month to upgrade to Snapchat+ for 250GB of storage and $15.99 a month to upgrade to Snapchat Platinum for 5TB of storage.
At its peak, users could be paying up to $191.88 a year.
