Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has compared the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to Zionists in Israel.

“Zionists in Israel and the RSS in India are twin brothers,” Vijayan said while addressing a public meeting in Kannur on Wednesday.

His remarks came as the RSS is holding its centenary celebrations. Formed in 1925, the RSS is the ideological front of the ruling BJP.

Vijayan’s CPI-M has been ideologically opposed to the RSS, a right-wing organisation that advocates for a Hindu Rashtra.

Earlier on Wednesday, Vijayan also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for releasing a postage stamp and coin commemorating the RSS.

“Commemorating the RSS centenary with a postage stamp and a 100-rupee coin is a grave insult to our Constitution,” Vijayan said on X.
