Bangladesh Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus' remarks about the Awami League (AL) being valid as a party, with only its activities suspended for the time being, come across as contradictory and a bouncer.

Speaking to news organisation Zeteo on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Yunus said that the Awami League remains a valid political party, and its activities have been put on hold for the time being.

When asked if the suspension might be lifted, he responded, "That's a possibility".
