French President Emmanuel Macron met Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Copenhagen on Thursday morning on the sidelines of the European Political Community (EPC) summit to discuss defense issues.

Thursday marks the second day of the gathering in the Danish capital.

On Wednesday, the 27 EU member states focused their talks on common defense, amid recent incursions of aircraft into Central and Eastern European airspace.

They were joined on Thursday by leaders from 20 other EPC member countries from Switzerland to Georgia, as well as the United Kingdom and Turkey for the summit. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also took part.

The wider grouping, set up to discuss security and cooperation beyond the EU, is expected to press the bloc on tangible progress in strengthening Europe’s defenses.
