The Donald Trump administration has decided to provide Ukraine with intelligence for long-range missile strikes deep inside Russia in signs that the US President's patience with Moscow on ending the war with Kyiv was running thin.

This will be the first time that the US will provide such assistance to Ukraine as the conflict nears its fourth anniversary, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

The move will make it easier for Ukraine to hit Russian energy infrastructure like refineries, pipelines and power plants. Energy and oil remain Russia's single-most important source of revenue amid the protracted conflict.
