Law McCabe has revealed how Morgan Whittaker played a big role in his decision to join Plymouth Argyle on loan this season.

The Boro starlet had initially been planning to stay and compete at Middlesbrough this season. But the early form of Aidan Morris and Hayden Hackney as well as the late chance to sign Alan Browne prompted a rethink, with regular game-time seen as a valuable next step for the 19-year-old.

When Boro made the midfielder available available for loan, there was no surprise that plenty of interest presented itself. In the end, McCabe and Boro picked Plymouth Argyle, with the Boro prospect explaining how Boro forward Whittaker, who made the opposite switch nine months ago, helped.
