A massive row has erupted in Bangladesh after a photo showed Sheikh Hasina's aide and former Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun in handcuffs while lying in a hospital bed. The image, widely-circulated on social media, surfaced just after the death of the senior Awami League leader.

Social media users who shared the photo claimed that Nurul Majid, who was receiving treatment at the ICU in Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), was handcuffed to bed. Some even claimed that his hands remained shackled even after his passing.
