Gitanjali J Angmo, the wife of activist Sonam Wangchuk and CEO of Himalayan Institute of Alternatives (HAIL), criticised the Centre on Thursday and alleged police torture against the people of Ladakh after the violence on September 24 killed at least four people.

She compared the current situation in Ladakh to that during British India, saying that the Ministry of Home Affairs is "misusing" the Ladakh Police.
