The Staten Island Young Republicans mourn the tragic and senseless assassination of Charlie Kirk. Charlie was not only the founder of Turning Point USA but also a bold voice for millions of young conservatives across the nation. His murder was an attack on free speech, political diversity, and the values we hold dear as Americans.

We may strongly disagree, bicker, even become mad at each other because of our positions. But we express those views at the ballot box. There is no room for political violence in our country. No one should ever fear for their life because of the opinions they hold or the ideas they speak. A healthy democracy depends on spirited debate, not intimidation or bloodshed.
