A love story from Sasaram, Bihar, ended in chaos when a father of four and a mother of three attempted to register their marriage at the local court — only to be assaulted with shoes and slippers by their families. The incident unfolded on the old GT Road, drawing a crowd before police stepped in to restore order.

According to reports, Dayashankar Ram, a resident of Dhanwa in the Shivsagar police area, and Dharmshila Devi, from Dalmia Nagar, New Delhi, fell in love despite being linked through their children’s arranged marriage. Dayashankar’s son was engaged to Dharmshila’s daughter. While the families awaited the wedding, the two parents began speaking over the phone and grew close.

The pair allegedly got married in a temple before attempting to legalise the union at the Sasaram court.
