Pargat Singh welcomes nod for Sikh jathas to Pakistan for Guru Nanak Parkash Purab

Congress MLA Pargat Singh welcomed the decision to allow Sikh jathas to visit Pakistan for the Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, calling it a reflection of the community’s collective voice of faith.

“Congratulations to the entire Nanak Naam Leva Sangat—it is your united voice of faith that the Centre had to finally listen to,” he said in a post, framing the development as a matter of religious dignity rather than political contention.

“This is not about politics but about the dignity of our traditions and the right of Sikhs to pay obeisance at sacred sites,” he noted, adding, “May every step taken in devotion strengthen peace and respect.”
