I work in a mid-size metallurgical laboratory, where I’m the go-to guy for night shift work, usually once every six to seven weeks. I have no problem with this and usually enjoy it. However, I have raised a request that management find someone to alternate with, since my personal circumstances have changed. They have promised they have been working on it for a year now, to no avail. Well, now we are in a busy period requiring nine consecutive weeks of night shift, and I’ve been assigned to it, mostly solo.
