As Manchester United 's early-season woes continue, Ruben Amorim has received much criticism for his tactics and team selections.

That is certainly fair given the question marks over whether his players are suited to the 3-4-2-1 formation the Portuguese insists on playing, and which has led to three defeats in six Premier League games. But there is also something to be said about United's summer recruitment and whether the Red Devils spent comfortably more than £200million wisely on their six additions.
