Despite a federal government shutdown that began Tuesday evening in Hawaii, the state’s most visited historic sites will remain open to the public.
Pacific Historic Parks, the nonprofit partner of the National Park Service, announced it will cover daily operating costs for the Pearl Harbor National Memorial and USS Arizona Memorial, ensuring visitors can continue to access the site.
All four Pearl Harbor Historic Sites — Pearl Harbor National Memorial, Battleship Missouri Memorial, Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum and Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum — will operate at normal hours during the shutdown.
