Surankote, Oct 02: In a concerning development, five cases of dog bites were reported in Surankote town in Poonch district.
The victims, including children and elderly citizens, were immediately taken to the local hospital, where they received first aid and anti-rabies treatment.
According to locals, the increasing number of stray dogs in the area has become a serious threat to public safety.
Residents urged the authorities to take urgent measures to control the stray dog population and ensure proper medical facilities for the affected.
Meanwhile Health officials advised people to remain cautious, avoid provoking stray animals, and immediately seek medical help in case of a bite.
