Forecasters are monitoring Hurricane Imelda , now a Category 1 hurricane, as it moves away from Bermuda, according to the National Hurricane Center.
According to an early morning advisory on Thursday, Oct. 2 , from the NHC, the hurricane is located about 230 miles east-northeast of Bermuda.
The advisory also states that the storm is moving east-northeast at 30 mph with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph. Bermuda is currently under a tropical storm warning.
Hurricane Imelda is expected to transition into an extratropical cyclone later on Thursday, October 2.
