A pedestrian was killed during a hit-and-run crash on Wednesday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the incident occurred on State Road 50 and State Road 436 in Orlando at approximately 7:55 p.m.

A vehicle was traveling eastbound on Colonial Drive, approaching Semoran Boulevard in the center left turn lane.

At the same time, the pedestrian was walking from north to south and entered the path of the vehicle. As a result, the car struck the pedestrian, troopers said.

After the crash, the driver allegedly fled the scene, and there are no further details available about the individual or the vehicle involved.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital and was later pronounced dead. He was identified as a 38-year-old man from Orlando.
