Bus fire closes lanes, causes traffic on New Jersey Turnpike

A bus fire on the New Jersey Turnpike’s Eastern Spur shut down one lane during the morning rush on Oct. 2.

The fire broke out around 7:06 a.m. on the northbound side of the highway, just south of Interchange 15X near the Secaucus Train Station, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. One right lane remained blocked as crews responded to the scene.

Info on injuries and cause was not immediately known. Drivers were advised to expect delays in the area as emergency responders worked to clear the incident.
