A fatal crash has closed westbound Interstate 70 near Adelaide Avenue, police said Thursday morning.

The victim, a woman, was struck by vehicles around 5:30 a.m. near Carrie Avenue. Mitch McCoy, a police spokesman, said the vehicles left.

Accident-reconstruction investigators are on the scene. Westbound traffic is being diverted from the highway. Officials have not given an estimate on when the interstate will be reopened.
