WASHINGTON — Even more shrimp is being recalled because it could be radioactive, federal regulators announced this week.
Some frozen raw shrimp sold by Sea Port Products Corp. is being recalled because it may have been exposed to Cesium-137, according to a recall notice filed with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday.
The Washington-based company said the recall covers Sea Port brand Frozen Raw Easy Peel White Shrimp, jumbo size 16/20 count per pound, which may have been prepared, packed or held under insanitary conditions that could have led to contamination with cesium-137.
The recalled shrimp was distributed in small volumes to independent retailers in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Montana, Oregon, Washington state and American Samoa between July 10 and Sept. 22. No illne
