One person was injured when two Delta Air Lines regional jets collided while taxiing at New York's LaGuardia Airport on Oct. 1, officials said.

An outbound flight and an inbound flight, which were both operated by Delta subsidiary Endeavor Air, collided at 9:58 p.m. local time on the taxiway, the Port Authority of New York said in a statement to USA TODAY.

One person on the flights suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital "as a precautionary measure," the agency said.

Delta Air Lines said in a statement to USA TODAY that the aircrafts were involved in "a low-speed collision."
