PORTAGE — Just minutes after a woman reported she was hiding in her home from an armed man attempting to get inside, police said they arrived and took a 32-year-old Hebron resident into custody on gun and drug charges.

Portage police said they were called out around 12:25 p.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of Camelot Estates and found a man, later identified as John Bielak, under a parked vehicle.

Police, with weapons drawn, had Bielak come out from under the vehicle and he admitted to having methamphetamine, according to the incident report.

Police said they recovered 55 grams of the illegal drug mixed with the deadly drug fentanyl, which due to the weight resulted in a felony criminal charge of dealing in the drug.
