Two days after faith leaders had a prayer vigil for detained migrants outside the Miami Correctional Facility, the prison received the first 15 detainees from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to the Indiana Department of Corrections (IDOC).
ICE detainees will be housed in a separate area from inmates, according to officials. IDOC did not detail whether the detainees were accused of crimes or simply being held because of their immigration status.
