Amazon is going on a holiday hiring spree that will bring hundreds of seasonal jobs to the London region.
The world’s largest online retailer plans to hire 7,000 seasonal workers in Canada including 800 in the London region, the company said Thursday.
The hiring that begins this month and will continue through December will be for positions including stowing, picking, packing, sorting and shipping at the company’s fulfillment and sortation centres and delivery stations across Canada.
Eight-hundred of those jobs will be in the London region, a spokesperson said.
Amazon has a handful of operations in the London region, including a fulfillment centre in the former Ford assembly plant, at 11884 Sunset Rd. in Southwold Township, where around 1,000 people are employed. The centre opened Oct.
