Penguins winger Bryan Rust will miss at least the next two weeks due to injury.

The 33-year-old was injured at practice Wednesday. He was skating in Cranberry as part of a group of Penguins who were not playing in that night’s preseason game in Buffalo. He left that session early due to a lower-body injury and did not return.

The Penguins announced Thursday that he would miss at least a minimum of two weeks. So Rust will not be in the lineup next Tuesday for the season opener in New York, and based on the timeline provided by the team, he could miss several games.
