IndiGo on Thursday announced that it will restart flights to mainland China, beginning with a daily, non-stop service between Kolkata and Guangzhou from October 26, 2025.
Subject to regulatory approvals, IndiGo will also introduce direct flights between Delhi and Guangzhou shortly.
The flights will be operated using Airbus A320neo aircraft.
Direct flights were operational between the two countries till early 2020, before getting suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. The services remained suspended in view of the eastern Ladakh border row. The airline said that many arrangements and processes with local partners remain in place, allowing for a swift resumption of operations.
