The Jets have signed RB Khalil Herbert and placed RB Braelon Allen on injured reserve.

Allen (6-1, 235) sustained a knee injury while returning a kickoff during the second quarter of Monday's 27-21 loss to the Dolphins. The second-year member of the Jets has appeared in all 4 games this season, rushing for 76 yards and adding 2 receptions for 17 yards. Allen rushed for 26 yards on Monday before exiting the game.

Herbert (5-9, 212) was selected by the Chicago Bears in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Herbert, who played collegiately for Kansas and Virginia Tech, has recorded 1905 rushing yards and 9 TDs during his four-year pro career. He has also added 53 receptions for 312 yards and 2 TDs.
