(WJW) – No charges have been returned for police officers in connection with the shooting death of 15-year-old Jazmir Tucker in Akron.

Jazmir Tucker was shot and killed by Akron Police on Thanksgiving night in 2024.

Thursday, a Summit County grand jury made a no bill determination on the case, meaning that the officers involved, who were never publicly identified, will not face charges.

Tucker’s autopsy, released in January 2025, showed that Tucker was shot three times, twice in the back and once in the arm.

The shooting happened a short time after officers were investigating the sound of gunfire on East Avenue.

Officers did not activate their body cameras when they first exited their patrol cars.
