Stirling's new glass recycling bins are set to be rolled out from next week. ‌

Approximately 41,000 wheelie bins, each with a capacity of 140 litres, will start being delivered to households from Wednesday, October 8. ‌

It follows a recent review of glass recycling which the council believes will enhance the collection service for residents and save Stirling Council around £300,000 annually. ‌

The new wheelie bins – black with a purple lid – will first be delivered to Cowie , and all residents in the Stirling area will receive a letter in the coming days detailing the changes and key collection dates.

Until January 5, 2026, the frequency of glass recycling collections will remain the same. After this date, collections will take place every eight weeks.
