The Wildwoods will host vintage drag racing on the beach this weekend with “The Race of Gentlemen,” a three-day event featuring pre-1934 cars and pre-1947 motorcycles.

Stultz & Son Productions presents the event, commonly known as TROG, which celebrates American racing heritage by showcasing hand-built vehicles from a bygone era. T

he races take place on the flat stretches of hard sand closest to the water’s edge on the Wildwoods’ beaches.

The event pays tribute to racing from before World War II, when cars and motorcycles were assembled in backyards and garages and then tested on beach courses, organizers said

Attendees can watch exhibition-style beach racing while enjoying live music, a kids’ area, and food and beer vendors.
