Mayor Sal Panto Jr. is praising the Easton ’s directors and financial team for creating a balanced 2026 budget.

To achieve this balance, residents may see an increase in certain fees.

Panto presented Easton’s proposed 2026 budget Wednesday at Easton City Hall. He said the plan avoids a property tax increase while raising trash and parking fees to offset rising costs.

The proposed budget sits at $38,812,880, which is a $361,043 increase from 2025.

“We haven’t raised real estate taxes in 18 years, and we will not be raising them again next year,” Panto said.

He added that the city’s ability to halt tax increases comes from new development that has expanded the tax base and drawn new residents.
