NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department has charged two men following a reported burglary and a brief standoff in a neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

Gerbrell Deangelo Choice, 18, is charged with second-degree burglary and Robert Griffin, 58, is charged with accessory after the fact to a felony for allegedly aiding Choice in avoiding the arrest, according to jail records.

Officers responded to a burglary call on Kent Avenue around 1:16 p.m. after a homeowner reported it. Upon arrival, they found Choice, who was shirtless, fleeing the scene on foot and jumping the fence.

Police also received additional information that the suspect may have taken refuge in a home on Bailey Drive. When they made contact with a man who was working on a vehicle in the backyard,
