HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - With the government shutdown that stated Wednesday, there’s uncertainty in the air for farmers who rely on federally supplied funds and reports when it comes to planning for next season.

For its broadest effect, the shutdown has prevented politicians from extending President Trump’s Farm Bill from 2018, which provides farmers more crop insurance, increased funding for animal health, trade promotion, among dozens of other programs .

In addition, the U.S.D.A. was preparing to send out financial relief under the Emergency Commodity Assistance Program. With the shutdown, it is now unclear when that money will be sent out.
