FRANKFORT, Ky. — It has been a troubling year for political violence in the United States.

Kentucky elected officials on both sides of the aisle said it’s time to bring the humanity back to politics. They said, while not everyone will agree with each other; we have to disagree respectfully.

After being in public office for nearly seven years, Secretary of State Michael Adams, R-Ky., said he has gotten used to living with online commenters. However, what he struggles to live with are threats to him or his family.

“I wish it would stop; I kind of thought it would go away after the 2020 election; I thought it would go away after the 2024 election, and it hasn’t,” Adams said.
