WHEN Indigo Duffy developed a sore throat after attending a gig she assumed it was the start of the flu or a cold.

But the 22-year-old was left panicking after a "burning" rash broke out all over her body and doctors confirmed she had a 'Victorian disease' that "wiped out families".

Indigo, a self-employed vintage clothes seller, had attended a "really hot and packed " gig in a Brixton pub and a music festival just the week before.

When she developed a sore throat soon after, she assumed the symptom was the start of common winter illness, the flu.

"It was a really packed gig, really hot and then I had a really burning sore throat and I had no clue what it was," Indigo, who lives in Kingston, London, said.
