ST. LOUIS — A bicyclist was killed by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday night in south St. Louis, police said.

Police said they don't know the name of the bicyclist and described him only as a male.

He was struck about 7:25 p.m. on Winnebago Street at Ohio Avenue, in the city's Gravois Park neighborhood.

The bicyclist was traveling south on Ohio when he collided with a vehicle at the intersection with Winnebago, police said. The victim died at the scene.

Detectives with the Third District are investigating to try to find the vehicle that fled.
