SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - The Black Bear Pass is closed until further notice due to a vehicle getting stuck on the cliffside road.

According to the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office, a South Carolina man drove his Kia Telluride up the one-way road on Black Bear Road, despite people in the area advising him not to.

The SUV later got stuck with its wheels off the side of the road, leaving the vehicle unstable. Deputies said it is not safe for other cars to drive around it.

The sheriff’s office said the SUV requires a tow, but it is currently unknown when that can occur.

Bridal Veil Road up to the Falls is also closed just past the parking lot, which prohibits access to the Via Ferrata. Bridal Veil Trail will remain open.
