: In a major development in the probe into the death of singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore, the Assam CID on Thursday arrested Garg’s long-time aide and bandmate Sekhar Jyoti Goswami, along with his co-singer Amritprava Mahanta, after several days of questioning, sources in SIT reveal.
Both Goswami and Amritprava were reportedly part of the yacht party in Singapore on September 19, the day Zubeen drowned, and were present at the scene. Investigators noted that Goswami was seen in video footage swimming very close to Garg, while Amritprava is said to have recorded the entire sequence of events on her mobile phone.
CID sources confirmed that the duo had been under interrogation for nearly six days before their arrest. They are expected to be confronted with festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahant
