Gov. Greg Gianforte stopped in Bozeman on Wednesday during his annual 56-county tour, honoring veterans at the local American Legion and visiting a longtime organic dairy farm north of town.

At American Legion Post 14 on Main Street, Gianforte recognized three veterans nominated by their peers for the Montana Governor’s Veteran Commendation award.

Two honorees received Montana state flags that had flown over the state Capitol. A third was honored posthumously, with his widow accepting the award.

“Nobody better embodies Montana values than our veterans,” Gianforte said. “They're the absolute fabric of our communities, and it's really a pleasure to be honor three outstanding standing veterans today.”

The veterans are Randy Kemp, Len Albright and Sherman Veltkamp via his wife, Eva.
