Howard Johnson is going back in time to celebrate the hotel (and former restaurant) chain's 100th anniversary.

Starting on Friday, Oct. 3, consumers can revisit one of the company's most "legendary menu items" — the fried clam strips — but just not the way they might be thinking. Instead of bringing back the seafood dish in its original form, the brand is selling HoJo’s Original Fried Clam Soap.
