DILLON — Businesses, churches and residents in the Dillon community have rallied to support the family of 7-year-old Enoch Haworth, who was killed while riding his bicycle Sept. 23.
The accident happened around 5:20 p.m. Sept. 23 at the intersection of Atlantic, Thomsen and Helena streets, acting Dillon Police Chief Joel Stewart said. Haworth, a student at Parkview Elementary, was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.
A service Monday at the Frontier Center to honor Haworth and his family brought a large crowd to pay their respects. A solemn motorcycle escort ferried Enoch to Mountain View Cemetery for burial.
