CLEVELAND -- Gleyber Torres will move to the top of the Detroit Tigers’ batting order on Thursday.
The Tigers play the Cleveland Guardians in the winner-takes-all Game 3 of the American League Wild Card Series at 3:08 p.m. at Progressive Field.
It’s the 11th elimination game in Tigers’ postseason history. The Tigers are 5-5. Before last year’s loss in Cleveland, the Tigers had won three in a row, most recently a 3-0 win over the Oakland Athletics in Game 5 of the 2013 ALDS.
Parker Meadows had been batting in the leadoff spot more recently; he’s now hitting ninth.
