LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Federal prosecutors plan to appeal a federal judge's disqualification of acting U.S. Attorney Sigal Chattah from supervising several criminal prosecutions.
The government filed a notice of appeal on Thursday in each of the four criminal cases filed in the District of Nevada.
The filing by Adam Flake, appellate division chief and assistant U.S. Attorney, is the latest move in the battle over Chattah holding the position.
U.S. District Judge David Campbell, based in the District of Arizona, issued his order disqualifying Chattah on Tuesday after federal public defenders argued she is "improperly serving" in her role.
"Given the court's conclusion that Ms. Chattah is not validly serving as Acting U.S. Attorney, her involvement in these cases would be unlawful," Campbel
