NAUVOO, Ill. (WGEM) - Following two tragedies over the weekend, the large Mormon population in Nauvoo remains positive.
This past weekend had two major tragedies for those in the Church of Latter-day Saints. On Saturday, Sept. 27, their president, Russell M. Nelson, died in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 101.
The following day, four LDS church members were shot to death at a church in Grand Blanc, Michigan. For church members in the city of Nauvoo, a significant city for the LDS, members have remained positive.
“The sense of community, that brotherhood and sisterhood we share with each other, not just as members of the church but with everybody, is very important,” said Dr. Nathan Seaman, a church leader.
Dr. Seaman works as a physician in Quincy and is a church leader in Nauvoo. H
