A police car parked up near the fire scene off Manvers Street, Sneinton

Five fire crews are tackling a blaze in a Nottingham suburb this evening (Thursday, October 2).

Emergency services are at the scene at a block of flats in Manvers Street, Sneinton.

Traffic is being diverted due to the incident, which was first reported at around 7.15pm.

"Due to an incident on Manvers Street, Red 44 are diverting towards the City via Pennyfoot Street and Bellar Gate to reach Lower Parliament Street," said Nottingham City Transport.

"The stops named Pennyfoot Street, Southwell Road and Hockley cannot be served."
