A US politician who livestreamed sex videos with her husband for cash has been arrested over domestic violence.

Susanna Gibson Payne, 42 and a former Democratic candidate for the Virginia state legislature, was arrested for "assault and battery – family member".

She was released after she turned herself in, according to a report by the New York Post .

Gibson said the arrest was a result of a false report from her now-estranged spouse.

She claimed her lawyer husband, John David Gibson, is the one harassing her over their divorce.

She also alleged that David got aggressive with her.

Gibson told the media outlet: "After my estranged husband, arrested three times since I filed for divorce, assaulted me during a June 2025 custody exchange while I protected our son, he filed a retaliator
