JACKSON CO., Miss. (WLOX) - On Thursday, officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol identified 68-year-old Lillian Byrd of Lucedale as the victim of a fatal multi-vehicle crash on Wednesday night.

Officials say Byrd was driving northbound in a 2020 Toyota Highlander on Highway 613 in Jackson County when it collided with a southbound 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500.

As a result, Byrd was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. The driver of the Chevy Silverado was also hospitalized.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
